about

This album was composed throughout the years 2020 - 2021 and was inspired by the scenery, folklore, and history of Scandinavia (especially in Winter). The music is linked thematically, "Da blaðene faldt" uses a descending chord progression, while "Stemmen i skoven" uses a rising chord progression. All of the inner tracks use orchestral string instruments and share some effect chains with each other in order to create a natural flow. Musical inspiration came from many genres of music, including film music, metal, jazz-fusion, electronic/glitch, progressive rock, and post-rock. There is a symmetry around the middle: Both "Vinterfæstning" and "Undslippe skæbnes iskolde greb" display strong prog-power influences while "Spøgelse i vindmøllen" is a departure from this sound into darker soundscapes. The first and last pieces also display symmetry with time signatures and length.

^ I've included the description of the above as the PDF booklet contains the above in an older form of Danish while also including some personal modifications of my own.
